چکیده
The Poraniidae (Asteroidea, Valvatacea) is recorded for the first time from Australian waters at deep-sea (>200m) depths, including, present, Australia’s deepest known asteroid occurrence 3850 m. Three genera are reviewed, each represented by a single species, Poraniomorpha tartarus n. sp., Marginaster paucispinus Fisher 1913, and patriciae McKnight 2006, which reassigned to new genus, Bathymarginaster. Comparisons with other groups similar in made key of provided.

New taxa and taxonomic revisions to the Poraniidae (Valvatacea; Asteroidea) with comments on feeding biology.
New molecular phylogenetic data and new specimens provide the basis for a revision of the family Poraniidae. We present molecular phylogenetic data for five out of 11 genera in the Poraniidae including a newly discovered taxon from the North Pacific. Bathyporania ascendens nov. gen., nov. sp., is described from Davidson Seamount (35º43'N, 122º43'W). Another newly discovered poraniid taxon, Clav...

During the study on the specimens of Astragalus sect. Ammodendron in the herbarium of Ferdowsi University of Mashhad (FUMH), based on the last and most recent sources, two new species, i.e. A. microfoliolatus sp. nova and A. rashed-mohasseli sp. nova were found and described. Morphological evidence confirmed that the belonging of these taxa to Astragalus sect. Ammodendron. The most important di...

متن کاملA new genus and species of Thyasiridae (Mollusca, Bivalvia) from deep-water, Beaufort Sea, northern Alaska
Bivalve mollusk shells were collected in 2350 m depth in the Beaufort Sea, Arctic Ocean off northern Alaska. Initial identification suggested the specimens were a member of the bivalve family Thyasiridae, but no known eastern Pacific or Arctic living or fossil thyasirid resembled these deep-water specimens. Comparisons were made with the type of the genera Maorithyas Fleming, 1950, Spinaxinus O...
